Marie heads our studies on North-Atlantic killer whales (Orcinus orca) in the waters around the Snæfellsnes peninsula, working closely with Orca Guardians and the whale watching company Láki Tours. She only uses non-invasive methods (such as photo identification and direct first-hand observations) to obtain information on individual movements, family patterns and behaviour. She is active in public education and promotes the conservation of orcas.
